Where are antibodies produced?

Posted August 29, 2023

Answer

Antibodies are naturally generated by plasma cells to mediate an adaptive immune response against any invading pathogens. Specifically, they are produced by B-lymphocytes following differentiation of B-cells into plasma cells. These antibodies can be directly collected in the serum or by isolating individual B cells which produce antibodies against the target epitope.
