About
Cy5.5NS succinimidyl ester
Cyanines are used in a wide variety of biological applications including comparative genomic hybridization and in gene chips. Depending on the structure, they cover the spectrum visible and IR wavelengths. Cy 3, Cy5, Cy5.5 and Cy7 are the most popular cyanine dyes. Cy5.5NS dyes have the spectral properties identical to Cy5.5, but do not have the four sulfonate groups of Cy5.5. Cy5.5NS dyes are not soluble in water while Cy5.5 dyes have high water solubility. AAT Bioquest offers the broadest selection of cyanine dyes. This non-sulfonated cyanine is not water soluble, and mainly used for labeling oligos, peptides and other small molecules. Cy5.5NS succinimidyl ester selectively reacts with aliphatic amines.
