How do I identify pure substances and mixtures?

Posted April 14, 2023

Answer

It’s easy to identify pure substances and mixtures by studying their properties. A pure substance is made up of only one element or one compound and has a sharp melting point. A mixture is made up of two or more different substances that are not chemically combined. It melts over a range of temperatures, with each individual component melting at a different temperature.
