What are the similarities between introns and exons?

Posted March 14, 2024

Answer

Both introns and exons are components of the genetic code found in DNA and RNA. During transcription, both introns and exons are transcribed onto pre-mRNA molecules. Introns and exons are also both found in eukaryotic organisms, including all plants, animals, fungi, and protists. They are both also intragenic sequences, as their sequences are found within genes.
