What is the order of DNA packaging in eukaryotes?

Posted January 23, 2023

Answer

In eukaryotes, the order of DNA packing is: DNA to nucleosome to chromatin to chromosome. First, the negatively charged DNA becomes wrapped around positively charged histone octamers to create a nucleosome. Nucleosomes then form the repeating unit known as the chromatin, which are thread-like structures. Then, the chromatin fibers become more coiled and condensed to form chromosomes.
