About
Cell Structures, Organelles and Tissues
Understanding subcellular compartments and organelle dynamics is fundamental to modern cell biology, from investigating disease mechanisms to developing targeted therapeutics. AAT Bioquest offers specialized fluorescent probes and kits for visualizing and analyzing cellular structures, including live-cell compatible dyes, fixation-resistant trackers, and signal amplification reagents.
Our Advantages
  • Proprietary product lines featuring MitoLite™ for mitochondria, LysoBrite™ for lysosome, and Power Styramide™ (PSA™) for tissue
  • Spectral coverage spanning UV to near-infrared for flexible multiplexing
  • Optimizations for fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, and high-content screening
  • Live-cell and fixed-cell options available across most categories
  • Kits and individual reagents for both routine and specialized applications
Actin and Tubulin Probes

Actin and tubulin are key components of the cytoskeleton, helping to govern cell shape, division, motility, and intracellular transport. Cytoskeleton probes enable visualization of these dynamic structures in both fixed and live cells.
  • Phalloidin conjugates selectively bind F-actin in fixed and permeabilized cells
  • iFluor®-phalloidin conjugates span Ex/Em from 345/450 nm to 787/812 nm for flexible multiplexing
  • XFD-phalloidin conjugates provide cost-effective alternatives to Alexa Fluor® phalloidins
  • Tubulite™ dyes enable live-cell tubulin imaging without genetic manipulation
  • Cell Navigator® kits include optimized protocols and counterstains
Plasma Membrane Stains

Plasma membrane stains enable cell tracing, membrane integrity assessment, and lipid dynamics studies. These reagents are widely used for in vitro and in vivo cell tracking, neuronal tracing, and membrane fusion assays.
  • Lipophilic carbocyanine dyes (DiI, DiO, DiD, DiR series) for long-term membrane labeling
  • Wheat germ agglutinin (WGA) conjugates for glycocalyx and cell surface visualization
  • CytoTrace™ and Cell Explorer™ product lines for cell proliferation tracking
  • Fixable variants (MM 1-43FX, MM 4-64 Fixable) retain signal through fixation and permeabilization
  • Spectral options from blue to near-infrared for multicolor imaging
Lysosomes

Lysosome probes are essential for studying autophagy, endocytic trafficking, and lysosomal storage disorders. These cell-permeable dyes selectively accumulate in acidic compartments for live-cell imaging and flow cytometry applications.
  • LysoBrite™ dyes provide color options from blue to NIR (Ex/Em range: 333–748/452–769 nm)
  • pH-sensitive Protonex™ dyes enable ratiometric monitoring of lysosomal acidification
  • Cell Navigator® kits include optimized staining protocols
  • Selected dyes are compatible with common fixation methods for endpoint analysis
  • Suitable for co-localization studies with autophagy and endocytosis markers
Mitochondria

Mitochondrial probes assess organelle health, membrane potential (Δψₘ), reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, and mitochondrial mass. These reagents are essential for studying apoptosis, metabolic dysfunction, and drug toxicity.
  • MitoLite™ dyes for general mitochondrial staining in live cells
  • JC-10 provides ratiometric Δψₘ measurement with superior aqueous solubility compared to JC-1
  • MitoROS™ probes detect mitochondrial superoxide and other ROS
  • TMRE and TMRM for quantitative membrane potential analysis
  • Kits optimized for flow cytometry or microplate reader formats
Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER)

The endoplasmic reticulum plays central roles in protein synthesis, folding, and calcium homeostasis. ER-targeted probes enable visualization of ER morphology and monitoring of ER calcium dynamics.
  • Cell Navigator® ER Staining Kits available in blue, green, and red fluorescence
  • Cal-520ER™ indicators for monitoring ER calcium store dynamics
  • ER-Lite™ dyes for live-cell ER visualization
  • ReadiPrep™ ER Isolation Kit for biochemical fractionation
  • Compatible with ER stress and unfolded protein response studies
Golgi

The Golgi apparatus processes and sorts proteins and lipids for secretion or delivery to other organelles. Golgi-selective staining solutions are based on ceramide analogs that accumulate in the Golgi after metabolic processing.
  • NBD-ceramide conjugates for green fluorescent Golgi labeling
  • TMR-ceramide conjugates for red fluorescent Golgi labeling
  • Cell Navigator® kits include optimized protocols and BSA-complexed ceramides
  • Suitable for live-cell imaging and secretory pathway studies
  • Compatible with standard fluorescence microscopy platforms
Exosomes

Exosomes and extracellular vesicles (EVs) mediate intercellular communication and are increasingly important in diagnostics and therapeutics research. These specialized products enable exosome isolation, staining, and quantification.
  • Flow cytometry kit for exosome detection and quantification
  • General EV membrane staining for microscopy, flow cytometry, and fluorescent NTA
  • ReadiPrep™ Exosome Isolation Kit for precipitation-based purification
  • Compatible with uptake and biodistribution studies
  • Suitable for cancer, immunology, and neuroscience research applications
Nuclear and Nucleolar Stains

Nuclear stains are fundamental reagents for cell counting, viability assessment, and cell cycle analysis. Our portfolio includes classic reagents and proprietary dye series with improved spectral properties.
  • Classic nuclear stains including DAPI, Hoechst, and propidium iodide
  • Nuclear Green™, Nuclear Red™, and Nuclear Violet™ series with optimized spectral properties
