| Applications | ASB-16 is an aminosulfobetaine detergent with a C16 alkyl tail. It can be used to solubilize proteins for 2D analysis. The optimal solubility can be achieved in urea-thiourea mixtures, and has been reported to show better solubilization properties than CHAPS. It has even been used to solubilze membrane proteins that were previously undetected. In some cases, ASB-16 can be superior to ASB-14. |
