XFD514 NHS ester is manufactured by AAT Bioquest, and it has the same chemical structure to Alexa Fluor® 514 NHS ester (Alexa Fluor® is the trademark of ThermoFisher). It is a bright yellow-fluorescent dye that can be used to replace rhodamine 6G with dramatically improved water solubility. XFD514 dye is water soluble and pH-insensitive from pH 4 to pH 10. The NHS ester (or succinimidyl ester) of XFD514 is the most convenient amine-reactive form for conjugating Alexa Fluor® 514 to a protein or antibody.
