BES-Buffered Saline (2X) (0.05 M, pH 6.95) Preparation and Recipe
BES-buffered saline is often used in the calcium phosphate-mediated transformation of mammalian cells.
To prepare
L of BES-Buffered Saline (2X) (0.05 M, pH 6.95):

Sodium Phosphate Dibasic (mw: 141.96 g / mol)##
  • Prepare 800 mL of dH2O in a suitable container.
  • Add # of BES to the solution
  • Add # of Sodium chloride to the solution
  • Add # of Sodium Phosphate Dibasic to the solution
  • Adjust solution to desired pH using 1M NaOH (typical pH = 6.95)
  • Add dH2O until the volume is 1 L.
