Sodium Borate Buffer (1 M, pH 8.5) Preparation and Recipe
Sodium Borate Buffer is a buffer that is used to maintain the pH within a relatively narrow range. It is isotonic and has a strong bactericidal effect, and can be used to dilute substances or in coating procedures.
To prepare L of Sodium Borate Buffer (1 M, pH 8.5):

Sodium Hydroxide (mw: 40.00 g/mol) | 10 g | 0.25 M |
- Prepare 800 mL of dH2O in a suitable container.
- Add 61.83 g of Boric Acid (H3BO3) to the solution.
- Add 10 g of Sodium Hydroxide to the solution.
- Add dH2O until the volume is 1 L.
