MOPSO Buffer (0.5 M, 6.9 pH) Preparation and Recipe

MOPSO buffer is one of the Good's zwitterionic buffer with an approximate pH range of 6.5-7.9. It has a good buffering capacity but does react with iron ions. MOPSO is used for a variety of assays that require physiological pH.

To prepare L of MOPSO Buffer (0.5 M, 6.9 pH):

Prepare 800 mL of dH2O in a suitable container.
Add 112.63 g of MOPSO, Free acid to the solution.
Adjust solution to desired pH by 10N NaOH.
Add dH2O until the volume is 1 L.
