Imidazole-HCl Buffer (0.05 M, pH 7.0) Preparation and Recipe
Imidazole is a mild buffer that is useful for IHC applications in multiple research areas such as biochemistry and molecular biology. It has a good shelf-life and is well-tolerated by multiple cell types.
To prepare
L of Imidazole-HCl Buffer (0.05 M, pH 7.0):

Hydrochloric acid (mw: 36.46 g / mol)##
  • Prepare 800 mL of distilled water in a suitable container.
  • Add # of Imidazole to the solution
  • Add # of Hydrochloric acid to the solution
  • Adjust solution to desired pH using HCl (typically pH ≈ 7.0).
  • Add distilled water until the volume is 1 L.
